In photography, light is quite often the dominating factory, capable or turning a typical photo into something more special. Occasionally these shots come down to being in the right place at the right time. But typically, they need to be planned, for example shooting sunrises and sunsets. It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago I would never consider arising several hours prior to sunrise just for the opportunity to take a picture. But there is something special about starting the day at a beautiful location and observing the amazing light that can occur during the time just before and after sunrise, regardless of whether you come home with a memorable photograph or not.
